WaxWing Poetic
Spice Market | Premium Reed Diffuser
Our Spice Market reed diffuser is a perfect choice for the seasoned traveler or the flower child. We created this sophisticated blend of citrus, musk, and earthy spice notes to embody a fragrant Asian spice market. As you experience the layered notes of this complex custom blend, you can imagine moving through woody forests, passing citrus groves on the way to a mysterious spice market in the heart of Old Delhi.
Earthy, nostalgic, and free-spirited, this fragrance is in demand all year long. With a strong fragrance that will last for months, this diffuser is suitable for larger spaces with up to 10 reeds. For smaller spaces or a more subtle scent simply use fewer reeds.
This reed diffuser is infused with natural essential oils, including elemi, fir balsam, geranium, orange, patchouli, clove, cedarwood, and vetiver.
Reed Diffuser Set Up and Use
Reed Diffuser Set Up and Use
When you receive your reed diffuser from WaxWing Poetic and you're ready to set it up for the first time, please use the following instructions.
- Ensure that you are placing the diffuser on a stable, level surface out of the reach of children and pets.
- The liquid is flammable, so ensure that you are also placing it in an area away from flames or gas appliances. Do not light the reeds.
- Remove the gold or silver metal collar by unscrewing counter-clockwise and place it nearby - you will be using it again.
- Using your fingernail or a thin metal instrument lightly pry up the bottle stopper and remove it. You may keep this in case you will be transporting the bottle in the future, or you may discard it.
- Replace the gold or silver metal collar by screwing it on clockwise.
- Untie the bundle of reeds and place 4 to 8 reeds in the diffuser, depending on the level of fragrance you wish to release into the room. A small bathroom may need only 4 reeds; a large room may need 6 to 8 reeds for best fragrance release. The more reeds you use the stronger the fragrance, and the sooner the liquid is depleted.
- Do NOT light the reeds! The purpose of the reeds is to wick up the fragrance and disperse the fragrance naturally in the room.
- You are now set up! Flipping the reeds (removing, turning upside down, and reinserting) will extend the fragrance release. We find that our fragrances can last from 2 to 6 months, depending upon the strength of the oils, number of reeds used, frequency with which you flip the reeds, and your preferred fragrance load.
What Sets Our Reed Diffusers Apart?
What Sets Our Reed Diffusers Apart?
Quality Reeds
Our diffuser reeds are made from high quality, responsibly harvested rattan reeds. The reeds are 3mm in diameter to allow for maximum flow, or “wicking,” of the reed diffuser oil. We’re really picky about our reeds, and here’s why: many reeds on the market are not cut in a clean manner with a sharp blade. Without a sharp, clean cut, the 20+ cells that make up the reed get compressed and aren’t able to carry the fragrance to the top of the reed. Our reeds are precision-cut on specialized equipment to ensure a clean cut every time and allow the reed to diffuse lots of fragrance.
Non-toxic, VOC Compliant Base
Our reed diffuser base is non-toxic and VOC compliant in all 50 states, so you can be confident that your reed diffuser meets indoor air quality regulations. Our base does not contain DPG and is Prop 65 compliant.
Clean Fragrances (custom blended into the base in small batches)
Additionally, our fragrance oils are all third-party Clean Scent Certified. We strictly do not use any products that contain parabens, phthlates, acute toxins, organ toxins, reproductive toxins, mutagens, or carcinogens.
